To be or not to be - an entrepreneur? A checklist and a playbook

Ashish Jha, (RKMV,1997)

Times are changing, and the latest buzzword that has gripped our country with the advent of the internet is startup.

The emerging rhapsody of having one's own business titillates the aspiration of the white-collar proletariat in a developing country, giving them a way to escape the constraints of a nine-to-five job.

But the path to entrepreneurship is frequently perilous, paved with unforeseen turns, obstacles, and dead ends. A person who has been there, seen it all, and is currently successfully conquering the issue gave a heart-to-heart tete-a-tete at the 37th Praktani Adda Session.

Ashish Jha, RKMV 1997, delivered the Adda. He is the co-founder and CEO of the software business vani.coach, which provides coaching in communication to working professionals.

For the past 16 years, he has worked as a coach and an entrepreneur. Beginning his career as a news correspondent for The Indian Express in Delhi, Ashish Jha eventually moved on to work for The Statesman in Kolkata.

He discussed the restless nights, failed ideas, missed funding opportunities, and nonexistent clients during the Adda.

Given how difficult it is to start a business, you might ask why someone would voluntarily go on such a journey.

Notwithstanding these challenges, our Adda speaker started his own business because he was motivated to realize his vision and meet a need in the community.

He attempted a startup, failed, and developed his concept into a brand-new product. He discussed how anyone could succeed as an entrepreneur with the correct drive, inspiration, and strategy during the Adda.

At the Adda, he spoke about how, as an entrepreneur, he saw a need that no other business met and devised a plan to complete it. He replaced a reputable university working in the same field for a client by accomplishing this with his present venture.

In short, the 37th Praktani Adda will assist many graduates who want to start a business but have certain reservations. This adda will benefit all alumni who wish to start on their own by providing them with advice from an experienced entrepreneur.
