Film Screening of Tamaash

The Director Duo: Satyanshu Singh (Batch of 2003) and Devanshu Singh (Batch of 2004)

On the occasion of the Independence Day, 15th of August, a film screening was organised where a film directed and conceptualised by two of our alumni was showcased. Satyanshu Singh and Devanshu Singh helmed the film Tamaash together which received wide critical recognition and brought their perspectives on filmmaking to a wider audience.

The talk was essentially given by Devanshu Singh where he explored the ideas behind the story of the film and how they came to think of it. He also pointed out the nuances of script writing and how the whole process of storytelling right from its genesis to its ultimate culmination on the screen unfolded. This all happened in the background of the actual film being shown to the audience.

The participants completely enjoyed the screening and asked a lot of questions about the whole process of film making and what were the challenges that they had to face as debutant filmmakers. The talk ended with a vote of thanks to Devanshu Da and Satyanshu Da (who was absent because of a meeting and was thoroughly missed by all) on behalf of the participants and the whole vidyapith praktani.
