This session of Vidyapith Praktani Adda, an educational bi-monthly session, was held on February 4, 2021, to explain one and all the nuances of investing for their future in shares. The session dealt with the dilemma many of us face while investing in stocks and mutual funds as savings for the future.

The session, which was moderated by Balaji Diwakar 1990 alumni of Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapith, Deoghar was a wake-up call and eye-opener for people wary about investing in the share market given its volatility and the risk involved.

As it commenced, the session informs us on the factors and reasons, which makes us understand why investing in shares is mandatory for young professionals vying for a financial risk-free future post-retirement. The enticing lecture on how inflation impacts our day-to-day life and how much will one require after a point in time-based on the inflation at that particular time is something that all must mull while investing and saving for the future.

Laden with outstanding examples, the session moved on to tutor us about the process and knowledge that one might expect to possess before investing. It also delved well into the methods through which one might garner the know-how before raking the moolah in the stock market. A simple presentation with eye-opening graphics, which is even helpful for a layperson, the session moved on to educate us with few jargons of the field.

The opening session of the Adda is a must-watch for all who want to invest in the share market and have doubts about it. It also leads with the example for people who are already investing.
