An effort to give back to Vidyapith

Site Visit for the proposed Solar Power Plant by Senior IOCL Officials at RKMV Deoghar

Vidyapith has given us so much to cherish throughout our lives that we cannot ever repay. However, we can do our bits to make our alma mater a better institution. Through the blessing of Thakur & Holy Mother, I have got this opportunity which I would like to share with all my beloved Dadas and brothers of Vidyapith Praktini.

In May 2019, I got posted at Indian Oil Corp. Ltd. (IOCL), Deoghar. This was a wonderful opportunity for me to get close to our beloved Vidyapith and engage more actively.

I visited Vidyapith for the first time after getting settled in 2019 and I met Ashok Maharaj (our warden in Brahmananda Dham and also the incharge of Bhandar during my days at Vidyapith). During the conversations, I learned about a CSR proposal submitted by RKMV Deoghar to IOCL, Marketing Division which has been stuck for some reason. I saw a great opportunity here to do my best for Vidyapith and started looking for avenues to put up a fresh proposal to our senior management.

Sadly COVID came that time and CSR work got limited & restricted to COVID relief works. I kept trying but unfortunately it was not moving forward.

Bipul Maharaj and Ashok Maharaj used to constantly follow-up with me and I used to have a standard reply which was to wait as I was trying my best. Sadly despite my best efforts, the proposal was not moving forward so on one Sunday in Dec 2021, I thought of visiting Vidyapith and informing Maharaj that the proposal is stuck.  On this Ashok Maharaj said, “Tum try krte raho. Jab Thakur chayenge, tab ho jayega.”

Stakeholder’s Meeting for CSR project at RKMV Deoghar

And suddenly like a miracle, things started changing. I came in contact with a very senior official from the marketing division who was posted in our head office. He had also been associated with the Ramakrishna Mission so I was able to explain and convince him about our proposal. Through his help, we could pursue the proposal and finally got the approval for a 25 kWp Solar Project at an estimated cost of INR 11.53 lakhs. The project is most likely to be inaugurated in Nov’22 as we are trying our best to match it with our Centenary reunion.

It shall be a 25 kWp Rooftop Solar Power Plant without battery storage. It will help in the reduction of monthly electricity bills of Vidyapith significantly post its commissioning. The estimated reduction shall be to the tune of  INR 2.76 Lakhs per annum.

Looks like Sri Ramakrishna had selected the year 2022 as the year for its inauguration to coincide with the Centenary Year of our Vidyapith. Also, I feel so blessed to be chosen by him for this task.

Jai Sri Ramakrishna !
