500 Cr Opportunity: Partners Needed

Dr Subrat Kumar, RKMV 1997

The 33rd Praktani Adda, addressed by Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapith, Deoghar alumnus Subrat Kumar was a business opportunity for interested ones. The session covered the intricacies of entrepreneurship straight from the horse’s mouth, which will be helpful for brothers who want to start their own business one day.

Dr. Subrat Kumar is the CEO of People Labs, a company that works in the fields of youth development, training, and recruitment. He founded People Labs 12 years ago and has trained nearly 40,000 people in industry and academia. He has collaborated with industry and academic leaders such as ADP, PepsiCo, Airtel, Axis Bank, DarwinBox, Oyo, Maruti, SBI, GSK, Ms, MDI, IMT, IMI, Nirma University, and IIFM.

He has a Doctorate in Management from IMI-Delhi in leadership and governance. He holds an MBA from MDI-Gurgaon and an engineering degree from G B Pant University of Agriculture and Technology.

The adda was focused on identifying business opportunities and moving them from ideation to implementation. The speaker drew on his 12-year entrepreneurial journey to share do’s and don’ts for future entrepreneurs.

The adda also concentrated on finding and hiring the right talent, which is the biggest hurdle for Indian businesses. While the demand for talent is increasing and is now a significant factor in growth, finding the proper candidates to fill open positions is still a problem for many businesses.

Finding the proper individuals may be considerably more complicated if you are in charge of a small business. Since there is a severe lack of skilled workers in India, finding individuals with the necessary combination of abilities for the job is the biggest issue for many small businesses.

Subrat Kumar not only addressed this issue but through the session, he has opened Pandora’s box of HR’s worst nightmare and has put on the table an open offer for each interested praktani brother to join in with him to address and solve this issue and built a business worth 500 crores.
