About the speaker

Vivek (X-2001) is Director of Data Science & Advanced Analytics at GAP Inc. based out of Austin, TX. He leads a team of Data Scientists and Operations Research Scientists building models that optimise business outcomes. The essence of his team's mandate is predicting what is going to sell and where (forecasting), and then using that information to make optimal decisions related to the procurement and placement of inventory (Pack Optimization & Inventory Optimization) and the pricing of merchandise (Price Optimization). Parivesh (X-2002) is an Applied Scientist at Amazon based out of the Bay area, and works in Search on building and deploying models for spelling correction across languages and multimodal search ranking & relevance. Parivesh obtained his BS-MS Dual degree from IISER Pune, and a MS in Operations Research from Columbia University.

About the session

The session will be a collaborative session by Vivek with two other RKM Alumni Parivesh Priye and Jayant Kumar, who will give an overview of Data Science, ML application & will talk about applications of Data Science & ML into three different areas.

Each of those sessions will be 15 mins long, and then the last 15 minutes will be reserved for Q&A. Let's join the session and learn from the expert. See you all there.
